How long does it take to charge SIDNE’s batteries?
How long will SIDNE’s transmitter batteries last?
There was a prolonged beep during the startup, SIDNE won’t move.
There was a prolonged beep while driving SIDNE.
SIDNE was working just fine, we turned if off while we had lunch, and now it won’t start up.
SIDNE won’t start.

How long does it take to charge SIDNE’s batteries?
If the batteries are fully discharged, 12 hours, otherwise it will take approximately 6 hours to recharge.
 
How long will SIDNE’s transmitter batteries last?
How 3 - 4 hours.
 
There was a prolonged beep during the startup, SIDNE won’t move.
This means the initialization process failed.  Turn SIDNE completely off.  Wait 1 minute and then go through the process again.
 
If the beeping continues past 2-3 reinitializing, try the following steps:
Blow compressed air into the power cube.  Try restarting.
 
If this doesn’t work try:
Check each of the connectors to make sure they are properly seated.
 
There was a prolonged beep while driving SIDNE.
This is an indication that SIDNE had a maximum speed issue.  Restart SIDNE.
 
SIDNE was working just fine, we turned if off while we had lunch, and now it won’t start up.
Was SIDNE out in the hot sun for some time?  The antenna may be too warm.  Push the handbrake to the GO position.  This will activate the fan on the antenna collar.  Let it run about 5 minutes.  Then go through the start up process.
 
SIDNE won’t start.  No sound.
Check SIDNE’s batteries.  Plug in the battery charger and check to see if there is a continuous green light.  If no, charge the batteries and try later.
Are SIDNE’s batteries fully plugged in?
Look @ rod, is it fully engaged @ the red button.  Adjust it.
 
SIDNE’s accelerator doesn’t engage.
Check both the accelerator and brake pedals to make sure they are fully pulled forward.  Grasp the pedals individually and pull them forward.  Then try to accelerate.  If that doesn’t work, turn SIDNE off, pull both pedals forward again, and reinitialize SIDNE.  Try once more.
 
SIDNE doesn’t turn via the steering wheel.
Make sure SIDNE successfully went through the initialization process.  If it has, then it may be the potentiometer.

Possible Sites

 
  • Course area recommended is 100 ft x 130 ft.  Courses can be revised to operate SIDNE in smaller areas – call for details.
  • Course area must be a hard surface such as concrete, asphalt or gym floors
  • Course area must be free from landscaping, parking barriers, light poles, telephone poles, and parked cars.
  • Course area must be a flat level surface
  • Course area must be free from deep puddles or snow and program run in dry weather conditions
  • SIDNE may be used indoors provided the facility meets the requirements listed above.
SIDNE CANNOT Operate on the following surfaces:
 
  •        Grass     
  •        Gravel 
  •        Astroturf
  •        Rubber
  •        Carpet
Successful SIDNE Course Site’s include but are not limited to the following:
 
  • School parking lots
  • Local mall or shopping center parking lots
  • Airplane hangars
  • Gymnasiums
  • Basketball and Tennis Courts
  • Storage Warehouse
