What kind of camera do I need?
Any type of digital camera will work with the software. The only requirement for the camera is that the pictures can be transferred to your computer. You can do this via disk or USB port.

Make sure your digital camera is set to low resolution. The pictures are smaller and the lower resolution helps the wounds blend for a more realistic look.
To get your picture lined up the way you want to:
- Set up a chair in front of a white wall or flip chart easel.
- Step off 6 steps and put a piece of tape on the floor.
- Set up a tripod for the camera, or put your toes on the tape.
- Have a test subject sit down on the chair.
- Make sure you are set to a low resolution on your camera. I have an Olympus Camedia C-7000 Zoom camera. It takes 7.1 mega pixel pictures. I went into the menu for the camera and selected 2 different resolution settings, SQ2 648 x 480 normal and SQ2 1024 x 768 normal. Both worked for the application. Quality choices on this camera are: Raw, TIFF, SHQ, HQ, SQ1, SQ2.
- Next, experiment by taking a number of pictures changing the zoom each time. Make sure to keep track of the zoom setting for each picture. You can also see by my example that I experimented with the placement of the face in the picture. The face wasn’t always right in the brackets in the center of the view finder. The picture I marked as just right was centered in my view finder and was halfway between the T and W on my zoom.
- Attach your camera and print out a contact sheet for the pictures. Note on each picture the resolution and zoom. An example of my contact sheet is below.
- Go into Fatal Reflections, open each face, and determine which one works best. Note the zoom used for that picture.
- Now you will know, the distance between the chair and the camera, the height of the chair, the resolution you like the best, and correct zoom.

I also found that by setting the resolution for my display at a larger resolution, 640 x 480 or 1024 x 768 it took up more of the screen and looked better.
